The challenge

Humanitas aimed to equip all its sites with a single, modern, state-of-the-art system for tracking surgical instruments, capable of standardising processes and unifying operating procedures across the group’s various facilities.

The main requirements identified were:

  • Centralise the traceability of surgical instruments on a single shared platform.
  • Standardise workflows and operating set management procedures across all Humanitas hospitals.
  • Reduce management complexity and improve communication between different departments and locations.
  • Ensure compliance, safety and control at every stage of the sterilisation and usage cycle.

Proposed solution

Promedital provided the Humanitas group with the SIXSTER platform and its mobile app, a comprehensive, scalable and modular solution for the digital management and traceability of surgical instruments.
