Gemco
Gemco Medical Solution is a leading Chilean company supplying advanced medical technologies and solutions, supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Latin America.
In collaboration with Promedital, Gemco has carried out a large-scale project at the Félix Bulnes Hospital, one of the largest and most modern hospitals in Chile, equipped with over 30 workstations dedicated to the sterilisation and management of surgical instruments.
The challenge
The aim of the project was to provide Félix Bulnes Hospital with a modern, scalable digital tracking and management platform for surgical instruments that complies with local regulations.
The main challenges identified were:
- Provide an advanced management system to coordinate over 30 operating stations.
- Ensure a secure and stable cloud configuration that complies with Chilean security policies.
- Comply with national regulations on health data protection and privacy.
- Ensure infrastructure scalability to efficiently manage high workloads.
- Offer remote technical support for system start-up, maintenance and ongoing assistance.
Proposed solution
Promedital, in partnership with Gemco Medical Solution, has implemented a comprehensive solution based on:
- SIXSTER, a platform for the complete traceability and management of surgical instruments.
- Steelco Data Pro and Steelco Data Lite, integrated with the Steelco Data Live app, for cloud-based and mobile management of operational flows and workstations.
The solution enabled:
- Digitise the entire sterilisation process, from collection to reuse in the operating theatre.
- Centralise operational control across multiple workstations, with real-time data updates.
- Integrate Promedital systems with Steelco sterilisation equipment, ensuring complete interoperability.
- Maintain high standards of safety and regulatory compliance, in line with Chilean data protection laws.
- Remotely manage technical support, ensuring operational continuity and constant updates.
